Last week was very exciting; not only did I start my new job at Boden, but it was also my 22nd birthday on Wednesday! I went out last night with my friends to celebrate, we had a little party with balloons and nibbles at my house and then we headed out to Camden for a boogie. I actually bought this dress in a last minute panic on Thursday...I hopped off the tube at Oxford Circus and headed straight to trusty H&M! (I pretty much want their entire autumn range). This little shimmery green number was just £34.99, but I definitely think it looks more expensive with its structured shape and cut out detail - it's very "Zara".

I wore it with my black suede ASOS boots, which admittedly I changed out of at about 3am because I DID FALL DOWN, and also a skinny black waist belt. I took a blue leopard print denim jacket with PU leather sleeves out with me for the chilly walk home. My night ended with a hot dog bought off the street and the night bus.

Jacket: £10.00 H&M
Bag: £14.99 H&M
Shoes: £60.00 ASOS

Enough about my birthday, now that that's done and dusted all I can think about is Christmas! I can't even express how delighted I am with my new creative assistant role at Boden; not only do I enjoy every second but I'm learning so much! At first I was almost worried to feel happy because it all seemed too good to be true, but screw it, I am a very happy girl! My first week entailed getting used to the company and office, meeting lots of new, friendly people, photo researching, creating trend boards, taking photographs, lots of printing, cutting and sticking, a little photocopying and I also sat in on two photoshoots!

I'm going to head to the shop now to buy something scrummy to eat, I do hope everyone's having an excellent weekend!

This is the outfit I wore to Somerset House last weekend whilst working the Christopher Raeburn show...I completely forgot to post these photos, I'm sorry! I found this cute little cropped jacket in the H&M sale for just £10; my new bag is from H&M also. H&M is my savior when I'm feeling poor but in desperate need of retail therapy! After the Christopher Raeburn show I met up with my boyfriend and housemate and headed over to Southbank for some churros, mmm.

This weekend I went home to Devon to celebrate my birthday early with my family. My actual birthday is on Wednesday but I'll be at work, (my first day is tomorrow and I'm super excited)! I better get some sleep, wish me luck! xx

Nestled deep within the chic, white corridors of Somerset House, Christopher Raeburn chose to showcase his latest womenswear collection in a more traditional way this season. As jumbo jet sound effects filled the tranquil room, spectators filed in, greeted occasionally by the soft "twit-woos" of owls...if you haven't guessed already, Christopher looked to 'flight' for his spring/summer inspiration!

A futuristic pallet of white, black and grey, the collection saw an overall sports luxe feel with structured silhouettes amplified by impressive attention to detail and unique fabric choices. These included laminated lace parkas, which were not only very clever but also very beautiful, and original silk 1950's flight escape maps transformed into dresses! Adorable little owl, dog and hare rucksacks also made an appearance, slung gracefully over the arms of models...both one of these and a laminated lace parka are on my wishlist!

I've actually been interning with the PR agency who deal with Christopher Raeburn's press for the last six weeks, and so not only did I get to attend the SS13 show wearing a Christopher Raeburn jacket, but I also saw the model casting take place at our offices! Yesterday was my last day...I have some good news...I've been offered a years paid internship with Boden as a creative assistant! It sounds like my dream job and I am very, very excited...I start on Monday so I will let you know how the week goes and what my new job entails!

Yesterday morning I worked the "Inspired by Minnie Mouse" event at Somerset House, a showcase which celebrated the inspirational and timeless style of one of the world's most prominent style icons. With her fun and distinctive look, Minnie Mouse plays a key role for many young girls during their first fashion experience; drawing inspiration from this, a handpicked selection of international designers were asked to create one off "must have" pieces to be unveiled during London Fashion Week.

The outcome has been spectacular. Despite being created by different designers, when exhibited alongside one another, the pieces seem to belong as a set, each celebrating Minnie in its own, unique way! All of these garments and accessories are up for auction HERE, and proceeds will go to the BFC (Bazaar Fashion Arts Foundation).

Here are some snaps of just a few of the designs - head over to the the Ebay auction to see the others! All of the pieces are gorgeous but my personal favourite is the Giles Deacon dress - it's so beautiful! Which is your favourite?

Because I was working the event I had to wear all black, this didn't bother me though because I personally can't wait for autumn trends to be in full swing! Dressing for colder weather is so much more fun than wearing summer clothing...big possibilities are endless! I wore a black tee with a metallic knit jumper over the top of a playsuit from Topshop, I then added polkadot socks and painted my nails red as tribute to Minnie!

Last week saw the launch of Esprit's latest collaboration with the Royal College of Art, a limited edition collection for which fashion design students join forces with the established fashion brand to create something cool, fresh and fashion-forward. Featuring a fabulous array of tops, trousers and knits, this innovative new collection is stylish and wearable; a true showcase of London's future talent. You can find more information about the collaboration HERE.

To celebrate the collection, an exciting event was held at ESPRIT's Regent Street store on Thursday evening. Whilst over at Carnaby Street shopping with a friend, I stupidly missed the start of the event and the fashion show - but when I did get there, I was absolutely amazed at the turn-out! The space, which was huge, was filled with creative workshops, from cutting and sticking to paper doll making! Fashionistas and arty types huddled alongside one another taking part in the fun, listening intently and learning.

I personally feel that art and fashion come hand in hand, and it seems a shame that events like this don't take place more often!

Just wanted to show you a few images from a shoot I styled at my last was for their spring/summer lookbook and I called in the photographer, models and makeup artist then styled alongside a fellow intern. I have the autumn/winter lookbook that I styled for them to show you at a later date!  The photographs were taken by the very talented Yulia Tsezar.

I had a manic day at work today - deadlines, reports, client appointments, courier mix-ups, buying my boss the wrong lunch and having to exchange it, and people just generally being rude to me. Gosh my life sounds a lot worse than it really is when I type it out! It wasn't THAT bad and I do secretly get a kick out of being stressed...but seriously, fashion isn't that glamorous, at least not for us "little people" anyway, as a kind lady from Elle magazine recently called us interns at Exposure.

For those of you who haven't yet heard of the brand Brat & Suzie, they sell a delightful range of cute, quirky and feminine clothing which can be found HERE. I was lucky enough to receive this winter floral dress from their latest collection and also a butterfly print top which I haven't worn yet...don't you just love dresses that have pockets!? They also have some really cool animal theme tops, perfect for the colder months ahead - check out the collection here.

I wore my new dress with ankle socks and strappy shoes for a quaint, slightly vintage look!
