Yesterday I wore my new Topshop dress to work. It's a little shorter than I would normally wear during the day, particularly because I often have to reach up and hold onto the hand rail on the underground which lifts my hemline even higher, but I just threw a big coat over the top and that was that. I also wore a PU leather collar blouse underneath because, well, it's cold outside, and I love collars.

In summer, when hopefully we'll have some warmer weather here in rainy old England, I want to dress in a more minimalistic way; think dresses and ankle socks, high waisted shorts and band tees... I find it really difficult to throw together an outfit at seven in the morning before work, so I'd love to be able to just put on one or two pieces before rushing out the door, screw any minor details or decorative accessories.

Looking forward then, simplicity is essential to my summer wardrobe, starting with this speckle roll sleeve mini dress. I can't wait to wear it in the sunshine with a pair of socks and brogues. Here, have a photo of me sat on a funky chair I painted for Boden's last press day!

I was recently contacted by the lovely Rosie from who asked if I'd like to take part in their exciting new #globalstyler competition. Of course I jumped at the opportunity; who doesn't want a free holiday!? All you have to do to be in the running is snap yourself wearing your favourite Boohoo item and holding the #globalstyler speech bubble, which can be downloaded from their website. Tweet or instagram your look with the hash-tag "#globalstyler" for the chance of winning a holiday to a destination of your choice for yourself and a friend - find out more HERE!

I am seriously sick to death of these dark winter days; it leaves very little time to photograph my outfits for you, bring on the summer! Alongside my lighting issues, I've fallen out with my camera, it simply will not do what I want it to. I'm looking to save up to buy another, can anyone please recommend a good model for daily blogger use? What cameras do you use?

These images were actually taken by my very talented photographer and knitter friend Louise; hopefully you'll be seeing more of her work on here soon as we're planning many exciting collaborations together over the summer!

Okay, so I didn't actually apply for any London Fashion Week show tickets this season, and I'm not working any events, so sadly I wont be attending - I just don't have fashion fever this this time around! Shock, horror, I know right? But enough about me, check out this gorgeous collection by Markus Lupfer!

I love the chic, clean silhouettes and the slight boyish feel. The colour palette is divine and the mixture of materials across the entire collection keeps it really interesting and surprising! I wish I could dress in clothes like this everyday.... maybe I should start saving to buy myself and autumn piece! What do you think of his designs? (Zara actually came to mind when I first saw them, and you know how much I love Zara!)

All images were taken from where you can see the entire fall 2013-14 collection, and you can shop Markus Lupfer here or here. Alternatively, head over to the Markus Lupfer website. Follow me on Pinterest to see all of my LFW favourites!

Last week I was invited over to the Millennium hotel in Mayfair for a screening of Breakfast at Tiffany's. Heading straight from work, I made my way to Bond Street station where I met fellow bloggers Becky and Kylie before a delightful evening of champagne, cupcakes, sweeties and sixties goodness!

I would firstly just like to say that this film gets better and better every time I watch it; obviously it's a classic but I love how beautiful, devil may care and romantic it is. It's like a fairytale, and a very fashionable one at that! Throughout the film it's truly difficult to tear your eyes away from the glamorous sixties-esque outfits, as worn elegantly by Audrey Hepburn who plays the main character Holly Golightly.

I'm never going to look like Audrey, she's one of a kind, (though Olivia Palermo reminds me of her a little); they're both so dainty, graceful and impish. I can however steal her style, which surely is the next best thing!? Get Audrey's look with a classic little black dress, modestly cut and nipped in at the waist - this particular design from JOY has a lovely, low v back with a big chic bow! Accessorise with a chunky necklace, (think glamorous), and vintage clip-on earrings for the ultimate sophisticated, Breakfast at Tiffany's look.

I would wear this outfit out to a cocktail bar in the evening, or to a black tie event - I'd probably also add ankle socks and a chunky heel to make it "more me"!

For a more casual, day-to-day look, I took inspiration from the above scene in which Holly wears a slouchy beige jumper with boyish black trousers worn high on the waist and black flats. I've just ordered this 'Audrey jumper' from Boden, (notice the name), and can't wait to wear it in a similar way, perhaps with black trousers and a bright pair of mid-heel shoes!

Happy Valentines day everyone! xx

I would firstly like to apologise for my lack of posts lately; I guess you could say that I'm just not feeling all that inspired, but I promise to make more effort from now on cos I miss you all! I wore this outfit out the other evening, the jumper is from Boden and is worn over a PU leather collar blouse, (you know I love a good collar), I bought this skirt for £10 in the River Island sale and the shoes are Kurt Geiger.

Life is confusing me a little at the moment, I hope everything works out for the best soon!

Last week AX Paris kindly sent me this super cool "Ink Printed" skater dress; I love the loud, psychedelic colours, and it's cotton which I find very flattering in comparison to limper materials. My one issue with this dress is how short it is though! I'm not sure if I'm growing taller or if brands are just producing shorter hem lines these days!? Does anyone else have this problem?

Here I've worn my Ink Printed Skater dress over the top of a black blouse, it is winter after all, black tights and my favourite shoes, which are from Topshop.

Having an emo day today, like most Sundays, working through the Inme discography and wishing I was young again!

I'm sure most of you have read this book already, but if for any reason you haven't yet been graced by its presence, (see what I did there?), then I urge you to buy it for a fascinating insight into the fashion world - into Grace's world! You can find it on Amazon here.

It starts how it ends, in which Grace talks about her appearance in The September issue; she expresses her initial reluctance to be filmed and talks about how the movie made her internationally recognisable overnight. The chapter about her childhood is enjoyable, but the book truly comes alive when she starts discussing her career - that's what we're all dying to hear about, right? Taking us chapter by chapter through her fascinating life, she writes with the honesty of a close friend and a humour you just can't teach, she's a very good story teller - just like in her photographs.

On Tuesday I went to watch Simon Amstell at The Invisible Dot. He was trying out new material for a Comic Relief gig, which if anything made him even funnier cos he kept breaking in and out of "character". He makes jokes out of topics I think about all of the time and he's got such a charming, dorky quality about him; by the end of the show my jaw was aching from grinning! So yeah, I love him a lot.
