TARTAN FROM MEEMEE.COM

A while back I was sent this super cool tartan pinafore by one of my all time favourite online fashion stores, MeeMee. I think it goes without saying that this outfit is very "me", for starters I am check crazy at the moment...! I also love how festive these colours are; the wintery red and green amongst the navy, (one of my favourite colours), and black. Yes, I can definitely see myself wearing this to some seasonal blogging events this December!

Here I've styled my new pinafore with my black Boden roll neck, (lovely and cosy in this colder weather), and I've added a big, fun velvet bow for good measure. I'm probably going to wear these under oversized jumpers as well so they look like shorts!

LAURA ORCHANT X FENWICK

Renowned for explosive patterns, bright "jewel-like" colours and unique digital manipulation, print designer Laura Orchant 'adds a pop of colour' to Fenwick's Bond Street store this Autumn with her beautiful, luxury printed scarves. Her designs, which you can see here, will be stocked in the Bond street store from this month.

How is everyone today? I'm feeling pretty gloomy... I'm not very well and feeling frustrated with life. But hey, things can only get better, right?!

CHECK IT OUT!

Lately I've been trying to build up my styling portfolio, mostly just for fun, and I've been dabbling in production and art direction to. The truth is, I don't have any visible talents, I can't draw, I can't sing, and I can't take technically correct photographs; but I do have a vivid imagination and I love watching my ideas come to life!

This is a recent series of portraits I worked on with photographer Matt Lain, as you can see I've gone a little bit check crazy, but hey, it's a great look so why not!? You can also see another of our recent collaborations, "Do you take check?", here on Zeum Magazine's website. I've been sharing all of our work on my new tumblr page, we have much more to post and many plans to shoot in the future so if you use tumblr please follow me to see updates and let me know what you think of our work! I will also try to take more "behind the scenes" pics in the future^_^

MONKEY NUTS

So, I haven't been very well recently, hip hip hooray, but yesterday evening I ventured out to my lovely local Crouch End for something to eat. We ended up going to a restaurant called Monkey Nuts, which serves an amazing selection of burgers, milkshakes and to top it all off, plays great tunes! (Their playlists are very "me" apparently). I got my usual chicken nacho burger, which although delicious, is near impossible to finish. I also got sweet potato fries and a cherry coke, yum.

As the temperature has suddenly dropped rather dramatically here in England, I decided to wear my new roll neck, (massively loving roll necks this year), which I got from work, along with a scarf and winter jacket for good measure! Matt actually bought me this vintage scarf and Uniqlo jacket for my birthday a few weeks ago. He also made me the loveliest scrap book full of photographs he's taken from our travels together, (thus far); he's the best.

BAMBI

I was recently sent this super cool deer print sweater by Choies; I love how slouchy it is and it has such a soft lining, making it perfect for snuggling up in when it's cold! I find the fabric and fit very "sporty" so here I've paired it with a pair of Nike trainers and a quilted PU leather skirt! Choies have got a great selection of on trend pieces and also lots of designs not currently available on the high street, so it's well worth a browse if you're looking for somewhere to buy stylish, affordable clothes!

Quick story - when I came across this skirt in Topshop the other week I was gutted cos they'd actually run out of my size - I even asked them to look in the stock room for me but they had completely sold out! Amazingly, whilst looking in a completely different section of the store, I found this beauty in my size amongst a different style of skirt... it was meant to be!

SPONSORED POST: BHS AW13 CAMPAIGN

When shopping for clothes I often find myself stuck in a bit of a fashion rut, sticking solely to the fashion brands I know and love and ignoring what the rest of the high street has to offer. Don't get me wrong, I love Topshop, Zara, H&M and Warehouse, but sometimes isn't it just wonderfully refreshing to step outside of your comfort zone!?

Particularly when shopping for occasion-wear, I think it's important to think outside of the box and look in the shops that you wouldn't normally consider. I like to visit department stores at times like these, as they have such a vast selection of different brands and designers that you wouldn't usually come across!

My attention was recently brought to the new BHS video campaign which looks at autumnal dressing in a clean, sophisticated and feminine way. Now, I've never really taken much interest in this particular department store, but on closer inspection they actually have some quite nice pieces, on-trend and for affordable prices! It's just reminded me to be open minded about shopping...

What are your "go to" shops and do you ever step out of your comfort zone to try and find something new?

ABSTRACT FLORAL

A few weeks ago I took a short trip down to Devon to visit my family,  and whilst there I couldn't help but have a cheeky scout around the charity shops! I came across this super cool abstract floral print bomber jacket and fell in love with it instantly. I paid just £5! (That reminds me, I have some lovely photographs from Devon that I'd really like to share with you so I will get those up asap!) Have a lovely weekend everyone!
