ICE WATCH

I bought this dress ages ago whilst shopping in Antwerp - I'm not really the "yellow type" but felt like trying something new and I loved the simple shape, it's very sixties! My new watch is from a brand called Ice Watch who have a really cool variety of fun, chunky watches. I don't generally wear watches but sometimes I think they can add something to an outfit in a sporty or kitschy way, what do you think?

I do apologise for my ridiculous tan lines by the way... it practically looks like I'm still wearing little white ankle socks!

RINGS & TINGS

I was recently sent some jewellery samples from Rings & Tings, an online fashion store which, believe it or not, started out as a small stall down our very own Brick Lane! Originally focusing on just jewellery, Rings & Tings have recently broadened its horizons by now stocking a lovely range of affordable fashion pieces and accessories to; I particularly love their bag selection!

SUMMER PARTIES & CAMERAS

Each year the company I work for hold a massive summer party to get everyone together for a day of sunshine, fun activities and best of all... food! As I only started working at Boden just under a year ago in September, this year was my first one. It was held at the lovely Knebworth house, which is surrounded by beautiful countryside - it was so great to have a day out of London! Socialising with my work colleagues outside of the office was nice and it was fun to explore the grounds of Knebworth!

As it was so hot I decided to wear a pair of shorts and a cropped vest top, which I picked up in Notting Hill a few months ago.

Enough about my outfit, "blah blah blah", whilst I have you here I'd like your opinion - it's my birthday in September and I was thinking about asking for a new camera from my parents. I currently have a Nikon D40, (I don't use it to take my blog photos though), but I'm not majorly fond of it and it isn't compatible with all lenses so I wanted to upgrade to something else... cos I really do miss taking photos since graduating from University.

I guess the first hurdle then, is to decide whether or not to stick with Nikon or switch to Canon... I've been looking on the Jessops website this evening and I really like the look of the Nikon D3200. It's still within my budget but will give me more scope to experiment with different lenses and has some extra features etc... just food for thought!

Whatever camera I choose, I want to be able to use it for a variety of different purposes; street style, blogging, photoshoots, holidays, gifts for friends and family... For Christmas presents this year, (yes, I'm already excited about Christmas), I really love the idea of giving things that I've made, so maybe a scrap book of good times or a framed photograph I've taken. I could even do personalised cards! I'd like to get some canvas prints done for my flat to!

Sorry, I'm rambling now, it's been a long day at work and alas I am still in the office! I was just wondering what cameras and lenses you guys would recommend? :)

NIKE TRAINERS FROM ZALANDO

I think it's safe to say that I've changed my mind about trainers. Until recently I hadn't owned a pair since my teen years, (I had some Converse trainers when I was 14), but I'm now the proud owner of two pairs of Nikes and also some pretty special sparkly running shoes. They're comfortable, practical and stylish; what more could you ask for when talking footwear?

I got these gorgeous Nike trainers from Zalando, an online store that I'd highly recommend - they have such a vast range of products and brands and their delivery is always very prompt! You can also find a great selection of trainers on sites such as tReds, where you can get anything from classic Converse, to a sportier Lacoste style.

Below is what I wore on Saturday daytime; some friends and I went to Highgate for a pub lunch before sitting in the sunshine for the afternoon... I'm enjoying this beautiful weather so much!

THE COLLECTIVE WHITE TEE STYLING CHALLENGE: LOOK 3

For my third and final look featuring the COLLECTIVE white loose neck tee I took a little inspiration from the eighties with these high waisted denim jeans from Meemee. I'm happy that I got involved with this challenge because, although I realise all three of my looks are quite similar with the high waist etc, I have come around to the idea of wearing plainer, more basic items such as a plain white t-shirt.... sometimes less is more.

I'm actually writing this at work on my lunch break; I'm really struggling to find time to blog at the moment...photographing outfits...events...reviewing products...replying to emails...posting... I'm not complaining because I love talking to you lot and blogging makes me happy, but I just wanted to explain why it may seem a little vacant at the moment. I'm just still working on finding a way to juggle work, friends, blogging and boys... please bear with me!

THE COLLECTIVE WHITE TEE STYLING CHALLENGE: LOOK 2

For my second look I paired my COLLECTIVE white tee with a navy American Apparel skirt. I love the simplicity of this outfit as it makes it really versatile - I could wear it to work with a pair of high top trainers, or for a more dressy feel I'd wear it with cute little heels as I've done here!

THE COLLECTIVE WHITE TEE STYLING CHALLENGE: LOOK 1

I was recently asked to take part in the COLLECTIVE white tee styling challenge and, always hungry for a fun new project to get my teeth stuck into, I accepted! Working closely with ethical and eco-friendly manufactures, COLLECTIVE's latest range is made with organic cotton and tencel blends which are "100% biodegradable and fully recyclable". I was asked to style their white loose neck tee over three different outfit posts to explore the diversity of the basic white t-shirt.

For my first look I decided to pair it with some floral culottes from Uniqlo, navy ankle socks, and my new white sandals. It was inevitable that I was going to style it tucked into something high waisted; I just find a higher waist more flattering for my figure and I feel more comfortable. This outfit is really summery and definitely something I would wear out on a Sunday afternoon for a picnic in the park!

If I'm honest, I don't wear white very often, if at all... don't you think it "washes me out" a little!? However, I've grown quite attached to this new little basic tee of mine and I don't actually think it looks that bad so maybe I will give white more of a chance from now on! What do you think?

ON LINGERIE....

BLACK, LACE & METALLIC BRALETTE FROM LA SENZA

Although underwear is mostly worn for practical reasons such as comfort or cultural expectation, like most garments it can also be treated as something indulgent, which we can wear to make ourselves feel good and boost self-confidence. I was recently sent an adorable one-piece by Affinitas from Lingerie PR, and not only is it pretty, cute and simplistic, but it's also really comfortable! The lace gives a very dainty, elegant appearance, whilst the black trim detail still keeps it cooler than some of the more frilly, girly designs.

Whilst admiring my new item I got thinking about the importance of underwear in a fashion context, and how we often overlook it when getting dressed each morning - at least I do any way. In a similar way that killer heels can make you feel more confident in an interview, or a designer bag can make you feel on top of the world, making a little effort with what's underneath is a great canvas on which to create your outfit.

SERENA BODY IN CANDY PINK FROM AFFINITAS

Of course I'm not suggesting that we should all wear kinky lingerie to work under our jeans and jumpers, but recently I've been trying to at least match the colour of my knickers to that of my bra when I get dressed up for an evening out, and I was pleasantly surprised when I felt much more sophisticated and ladylike because of it! Whats more, I thought it would be a difficult habit to keep up, but I simply bought myself some new black bras from La Senza before heading to Topshop where I purchased some pretty, black pairs of pants to match! You can't go wrong with black right? (A simple black bra is also so handy for pairing underneath sheer blouses).

Another way to spice up your eveningwear in a subtle, somewhat secretive way, is to trade in your tights for a pair of stockings or hold-ups. Not only will these make you feel a little sexier, but they're far more comfortable than tights in the summer! I find that online retailers such as tightstightstights.co.uk are a great place to get these as they have such a vast selection... and you could always pop some tights in your basket ready for winter whilst you're at it!

What are your thoughts on matching underwear and lingerie? Is it something you think about when planning your outfits?

LEVI'S 501 INTERPRETATIONS BOOK LAUNCH

Last week Levi celebrated its 140th year with a book launch at Soho's Rook & Raven gallery. The brand new publication, which will be available from Levi's London flagship store from 1st August, pulls together a collection of inspiring photographs from Levi lovers around the world, each showcasing a pair of the classic jeans. In a unique twist, only 501 copies of the book will be available for purchase globally, and each will feature a completely different cover image!

At just £40, with all proceeds going to charity, I'm definitely going to be taking a copy home with me - I had a flick through at the launch and it's a truly beautiful book!

GLASTONBURY 2013

Each year thousands of fashionistas, amongst many others, flee the city and head to Glastonbury festival for a week of music, fun and British weather. I wont bore you with a chronological account of everything I got up to - but I will tell you about some of my highlights!

TEE: DAHLIA
SHORTS: H&M
SHOES: DR MARTENS
RUCKSACK: ASOS

Thursday was one of my favourite days as I met up with a few friends and we went exploring! Ironically it was the one day that it rained, but we still managed to enjoy the Brother's tent, have a look around some of the craftier, arty fields and we also went to Shangri-la in the evening, which was amazing! This years theme was afterlife and although we never got to see heaven because the queues were so large, we did take full advantage of hell!

On Friday the music kicked off and there was an immediate change in atmosphere; everything was intensified somehow as sounds and excitement filled the air. Some of my favourite acts, (in no particular order), were Alt-J, Bastille, Stornoway, Phoenix, Mad Dog Mcrea and of course, Everything Everything. Fat Boy Slim's DJ set at Arcadia was incredible to, words can't really describe it! I'm sure there were others I enjoyed to... but that's the great thing about Glastonbury, it's not JUST about the music... there's so much to see and do!

ARCADIA

As you can see, I spent most of my time in these denim shorts, which I bought from H&M two summers ago. I'd also packed a dress, some other tees and some jeans for the evenings, but I didn't get an outfit post each day cos I looked so bloody rough by Saturday!

NEW TOP FROM CHICNOVA

Hi everyone! I'm sorry that I haven't been posting much recently - I'm sure you're all aware that it was Glastonbury festival last week, which resulted in me spending most of my time hiking through fields, drinking strawberry cider and watching live music! Inevitably there were times when I felt as though both my mental and physical barriers were being pushed to the very limit; carrying heavy bags for miles, sleeping on the floor.... and of course those infamous festival toilets.... but overall I had a fabulous time and I can't wait to share some photographs with you!

I wanted to show you a few new additions to my wardrobe. I bought this boxy canvas and leather rucksack from Asos about a month ago. I'd been looking to buy one for a while, and in the end I found myself looking in the men's section where this beauty caught my eye! I love the square shape and the contrast between the two materials. I've pretty much worn it every day since my purchase; it even came to Glasto with me!

I was also recently sent this gorgeous ethnic floral print t-shirt from Chicnova. I really need some colour in my wardrobe now that the sun is shining, and the vibrant clash of green, purple and acid just works so well here! Also, I'm always up for a bit of hyper floral - flower power!
