BOXING DAY WALK & MOTEL LEELA SHIRT

On boxing day I went for a walk on dartmoor with Matt, my Mum, and Alfie the dog. These days when I return to Devon I find myself truly appreciating how beautiful the area is with its vast landscape of rolling hills, forests, woodland, rivers and tors. Seeing Matt's photographs of these things has emphasized its beauty somehow, and now when I do go back, I try to go on as many walks as possible! I still find London the most inspiring place on earth, (though I haven't yet seen much of the world so this may well change), but there's definitely something magical about being high up on dartmoor with seemingly endless space around you.

Here I'm wearing my new Motel shirt, which I got at their most recent event. I don't often, (if ever), wear red, but this is a really lovely deep, pinkish red with a cute pattern all over it. It's also a great oversized fit with a batwing shape that's very flattering!

CHRISTMAS 2013!

I just wanted to say a quick hello and show you some of the amazing gifts that I received this Christmas… this year was particularly special as I spent it with Matt, and my family to of course, and we spent the day opening presents, eating delicious food, playing games and watching television. Perfect.

Mum and Dad bought me the beautiful shoes pictured above, (I can't wait to wear these once back in the city and away from all the muddy fields), and they also surprised me with lots of retro toys from my childhood which was fun! I will try to get them all photographed to show you. My biggest surprise of all however was the shiny new iPad mini that Matt bought me! I think he secretly bought it for me so that he can use it to, (joking), but wow what a wonderful surprise and so thoughtful! Did you get everything you wanted this Christmas?

A DAY OUT IN SHOREDITCH

Before disappearing to the countryside for two weeks over the Christmas period, Matt and I decided to take a break from work and our laptops and go for a walk in London's beautiful Shoreditch. One of the things I love about this area of London is its diversity; one minute you're walking down Brick Lane surrounded by graffiti, the next you're on Columbia Road, which has a very quaint, small town feel about it.

After getting the train to Old Street we headed to Columbia Road to pick up some last minute Christmas presents, unfortunately the gallery that I wanted to visit was closed so we had a wander around the other shops instead before heading to Byron for a burger! We also met a friendly squirrel on our travels!

Here's a photo of me looking super happy whilst walking to Columbia Road! I do apologise if you're sick of this coat by the way; it's one of my favourite items of clothing and I tend to live in it through winter! I paid just £8 for it in a charity shop about three years ago…. merry Christmas eve by the way! I hope you're all having a wonderful time with your friends, families, boyfriends, girlfriends and/or pets! I've had a lazy day of eating, playing board games and watching Christmas films, I also got my hair cut this morning and took the dog for a walk!

#LOVELABELTREAT

I was recently lucky enough to attend the #LoveLabelTreat event which was held by very.co.uk and Lee Publicity in trendy Soho, London. Having always been a fan of the brand it was great to get a taster of the new range, and what was even more exciting was that we got to try the pieces on and walk away with an item of our choice at the end of the night. Treat indeed!

I chose this amazing, hot pink coat. It's beautifully made and feels amazing, it's so snug and warm! I have very little colour in my wardrobe, but with pink being such a key colour this season I felt as though I should give it a try…. what better way than with a statement coat!?
It was such a fab evening, not only did I get to hang out with two of my favourite fellow bloggers, Amy from Dolls are United and Kristabel of I Want you to Know, but I also had my hair done, indulged in some delicious canap├ęs and treated myself to a few drinks to! I'll be sure to get my new coat photographed for you in the new year…. I'm curious to know what you think of me in such a bright colour!

I'm heading down to Devon tomorrow morning to spend Christmas with my family, I'm so excited! What have you all got planned for Christmas and New Year's Eve?

LEVI'S REVEL

We've all been there… faced with that impossible and daunting task of buying a new pair of jeans. Generally, when jeans fit my waist they're too tight around my bum, or if they do fit my bottom then I have a huge gap in the waistband. It's so frustrating! Last week however, I may have found a solution….

Levi's "Revel" jeans shape, lift and lengthen your body using a unique liquid shaping technology that controls the fabric's stretch in certain areas to lift and define. The denim itself has been carefully selected by the Levi's team, ensuring that it "feels as great as it looks" with a four way stretch that enhances your figure whilst also shaping to and moving with your body. It's also designed to NOT loose shape, meaning no more baggy knees, (hopefully)!

Levi's offer a "Curve ID fit system", which means that these Revel jeans aren't just available in generic sizes, but for each waist size there are also three different types of fit; Slight, Demi and Bold Curve, ensuring that you get the best fit for your figure type. I popped into the Levi's flagship store last week and got measured for my very own pair of Revel jeans and ended up walking away with a "Bold Curve". I was told that this is the best style for me because my waist is about six inches smaller than my hips.

These jeans are super comfortable, I'm really impressed with the stretch of the denim, and it's great that they actually fit me properly in the right places! I would recommend trying these if you do struggle to find well fitting jeans. They're around £90 but are a great investment buy; after my Mum saw me in mine she actually went and got herself a pair to!

BROADWAY MARKET

On Saturday I took my first trip to Broadway market! It was actually much smaller than I imagined it would be; just a short stretch of food and clothing stalls amongst other quirky knick-knacks. But it was so lovely to see the bustling weekend buzz of Hackney, and whereas many London markets like Borough or Portobello seem to be very touristy, this felt very "local" and special. Here are some photographs of our little adventure….

MY NEW FAVOURITE JUMPER

I bought this jumper last week in H&M's Covent garden store. There were two trails of thought that led to my purchase that day, the first being that this winter I've become obsessed with roll necks; mostly because they're everywhere in COS, but also because I've realised how warm they keep you! I'd also recently read an interview with Alexa Chung, (dare I say her cliche, overused name), where she states that a Navy jumper is one of her key wardrobe pieces, and it got me thinking that I needed one in my life. Navy is after all one of my favourite colours.

I guess actually, that there was a third contributing factor to this purchase, that being that it was only £14.99, but it doesn't look or feel cheap at all! Bargain!

The skirt featured here is also a new addition to my winter wardrobe - introducing the "Let's Party Skirt" from Sugarhill Boutique! In a metallic, textured jacquard, this skirt is perfect for the festive season and the black side panels give it a sports luxe twist, which I love. It's also a flattering a-line shape, very sixties, which holds due to the stiff fabric, so is great if you don't like clingy material! I may wear something like this on Christmas day - a bit of metallic or sparkle but still comfy! Have you planned your Christmas day outfit yet?

HUMMINGBIRD EAR STUDS BY JANA REINHARDT

I was recently contacted and asked to review something from the jewellery brand, Jana Reinhardt. As I don't often wear jewellery I decided to get these beautiful hummingbird, gold plated earrings, cos they're dainty and simple, perfect for daily wear or even to pair with an evening outfit on a special occasion! They're also a lovely gift, I think I may even get my best friend a pair for Christmas… then we can have matching earrings!

NEW TARTAN SHORTS!

Last week after work I went to Brick Lane for a press appointment and whilst in the area I couldn't help but pop into Rokit for a cheeky browse! Matt managed to find these beautiful tartan shorts, (or culottes rather), and I instantly fell in love with them… now don't ever want to take them off!

I wore this outfit on Saturday evening when I went out for my housemates birthday. I don't go out very much anymore; I don't have the money to waste and to be quite frank I HATE hangovers, so when I do decide to get my dancing shoes on I like to make the effort and whack on some lippy to! Dressing up is so much fun! I love the way this yellow tee brings out the yellow stitching in the shorts!
