A few weekends ago I went to visit the beautiful city of Gothenburg for Way Out West. Just like last year, it didn't rain it poured, but that still didn't dampen our spirits due to the picturesque surroundings, good music and friendly people. It really is one of my favourite places on earth.

Our first afternoon at the festival was pretty relaxed; tired from the early morning and traveling we wondered around the site watching random artists, eating churros and drinking cider... I soon perked up when it was time for Morrissey's headline act though! I did actually see him a few years ago at Glastonbury festival, which was an amazing experience, but this time felt a lot more intimate as we managed to get pretty close and he was in a great mood! (Likely something to do with WOW being an entirely meat free event). We also saw Massive Attack, The Libertines, PJ Harvey and Jamie XX to name a few.

I did get lots of other lovely photographs outside of the festival but I'll post these at a later date cause there are A LOT! Hope you're all enjoying your long weekend!

This year summer has whizzed by in a blur. I've had a really difficult few months with relationships and family, and on top of that been extremely busy with work, which I've been using as a distraction. I'm trying to slow down a little and get back on track with something called "my life", and I've realised just how much I've been missing out on recently... no sunny days in the park, no BBQs with friends and not nearly enough time spent with family.

I'd like to learn how to live life more in the moment as I currently spend far too much time worrying about the past or future. Over the next few months I'm going to work hard at enjoying what's happening in my life right now, focussing on the present rather than letting time pass me by. How we spend our time and who we spend it with shouldn't be taken for granted and this is something I'm definitely guilty of in the past. But I'm not supposed to be dwelling on the past anymore... as a nice contrast to this rather gloomy post here I am dancing around in the sun on one of the beautiful days I did manage to get out in!

Hey, it's been a while! A lot has changed in the last few months; I want to update you all but I'm just waiting for the right time to sit down and write a proper post... for now, just to ease myself slowly back into blogging, here's a quick outfit post featuring my lovely new Wood Wood t-shirt from Pho. London! I've always been a bit funny about wearing lighter colours, definitely preferring black, navy, forest green, charcoal... you know the drill... but in summer when I get a slight tan, (slight being a key word there), it's actually quite nice to emphasise my "sun-kissed" skin more against a white, cream or light grey.

Today Matt and I are going to shoot some still life, I used to really enjoy setting myself fun still life projects at weekends, remember The Biscuit Project? So much fun and I still love those images... I haven't been doing enough personal work recently as I've been pretty busy with "real work", trying to get by and pay rent you know. But I miss creating something just for the hell of it so my goal over summer is to get back into the creative mindset and just DO MORE!! Hope you're all having a wonderful weekend, oh, and please say hey in comments below so I can check out your blogs... I'm kinda out of the loop!

As soon as the days started to get longer I jumped at the chance to pull all of my shorts, skirts, culottes, dresses, dungarees and playsuits to the front of my wardrobe. I was let out of the studio/my flat for what felt like the first time this year the other day and was so excited by the expanse of blue sky that Matt literally had to tell me to calm down.

This cute little number is from Joy, by the brand Minkpink, a great Australian brand which I've been a fan of for quite a few years now. I'm wearing it here with my new Dr Martens - I thought I'd mix it up a bit and get a navy pair!

I'm actually in Devon this weekend for my best Friend's wedding - I'm a bridesmaid and I'm absolutely dreading trying to put makeup on my horrible spotty face tomorrow. Why does this always happen!? Every time I have a reason to want to look nice I'll get an outbreak of spots or dry skin on my face or eczema all over my arms!! I'm so sick of being twenty-something and still sporting teenage skin. On a plus note tomorrow isn't about me... it's about Ria, and luckily she has a beautiful, flawless face :) I'll try to get lots of snaps to share with you from the day!

Honestly, this is the first year as far back as I can remember that I HAVEN'T had the winter blues. Okay so I am craving picnics in the park and I'm in dire need of Vitamin D - but for once I've actually been too busy working and feeling excited about the future to even acknowledge that January, February and March SUCK.

I think I've done a lot of growing up in the last year, which has likely contributed a little to my newfound sense of calm; that and I live in an amazing flat and am surrounded by funny, talented and all-around lovely people. I finally feel like I'm finding my place in the world and it feels really, really good. The future looks bright and for once I'm focussing on what's yet to come rather than dwelling on the past.

But enough of the heartfelt stuff, and with summer in mind, I was recently given this super cute floral playsuit by a brand called Bellfield. Here I've paired it with a nice, toasty roll neck to keep the Spring chill at bay but I'm exited to wear it solo in Summer! Bellfield are a good brand to check out for basics and they have a great range of denim too! They've also kindly given us all 20% off any full-price garments when using the discount code BLOG20; why not treat yourself to something new for your summer wardrobe?:)

Apologies for the erratic post but whilst I have you here I feel we have so much to catch up on! I'm currently writing this from my hotel room in Nottingham where I'm visiting for work; so far I've spent my evening eating the biggest pie I've ever seen, (cheese, potato and leek), and I also just caught up on the latest episode of Girls - it's literally my favourite TV show and Lena Dunham is my hero. Is it weird that I actually really like Marnie?

Last night Matt and I popped out for a few cocktails and a bite to eat. Having previously heard wonderful things about their cocktails we decided to head to The DoubleTree Hotel in Tower Hill and up to the 12th floor to the SkyLounge. There's something so special about these hidden away rooftop bars and restaurants; its not everyday you get such a spectacular view of London and when you do it feels like a dream! From our roomy table we could see the London Bridge, lit up as if on a postcard, and looking in the other direction gave us an exquisite view of the Shard!

As they're currently still serving their Autumn-Winter menu all of the drinks were really festive and warming. My favourite of the night was the 'Almond & Honey', which consisted of Amaretto, (favourite), Passion Fruit Purée, Honey, Lemon and Egg white. I never thought I'd want egg white in my drink but this cocktail was so delicious I may be a changed woman. I also tried the 'Winter Sloe', which was probably the most festive of the three, and The Flamingo Bay, which was very sweet and tasty... and bright pink!

Alongside our drinks we had a couple of bar snacks - it's not good to drink on an empty stomach and all that - we had the 'Cheesy Jack Fries', Mini burger Sliders and also Chicken nuggets with a Bourbon dip. The nuggets don't sound all that exciting but they were absolutely amazing, and I loved how "dirty" the food was for such a fancy bar! I definitely used my fingers for the chips!

2016 SO FAR...

What an odd start to the year. After coming back from Norfolk, (where Matt and I ended our Christmas holiday), I've really struggled to get back into the swing of things. It's an odd feeling when normally I'm a bit of a workaholic; this year though... not feeling it. I've felt lazy, uninspired and all I want to do is sit on the sofa watching films and eating crisps. The fact that most of the work I've done so far has been from home doesn't help... I did venture into central London yesterday for the first time in what felt like months! Apart from that I've pretty much been working and chilling at mine. Maybe this is just how January feels.

I've also been thinking a lot about in-house VS. freelance work. I've had a few opportunities to go full-time but nothing has felt quite right yet. I do love the idea of focusing on one brand; I often feel so stretched that I have a complete mind meltdown at least once a month. But I also love the spontaneity of how my life is now and I like meeting new people and working with different brands... lets hope I find something thats a good mix of the two this year! Lets also hope that I just bloody man up, (sorry for using a pretty sexist term there); but seriously I need to just get on with my life and stop overthinking EVERYTHING. It's exhausting. Enough about my fickle thoughts any way, happy belated 2016, I'm really looking forward to another year with you all!
